Harvey Milk’s Legacy: A Night of Reflection and Song

May 21 | 7pm – The Commons at KQED, 2601 Mariposa Street, SF

Commemorate the enduring legacy of LGBTQ rights trailblazer Harvey Milk with an evening of live music, rarely seen footage from KQED’s archives and interviews with Cleve Jones, Gwenn Craig and Honey Mahogany. Enjoy a special preview of Harvey Milk Reimagined, the powerful modern opera by Stewart Wallace and Michael Korie, brought to life in a new production by Opera Parallèle. Join host Scott Shafer (KQED’s Political Breakdown) as we reflect on Milk’s vision and lasting impact on San Francisco and beyond.

Presented in partnership by KQED Live & Opera Parallèle. Portions of the event will also be broadcast the following day May 22 on KQED 88.5 FM in celebration of Harvey Milk Day.
