Opera Parallele’s Resident Stage Director, Brian Staufenbiel will be partnering with Nonsemble 6 to serve as Stage Director and Production Designer for their production of Arnold Schoenberg’s expressionist cabaret work Pierrot lunaire. The performance will take place on Thursday, October 4th at 8:00 pm in the Caroline H. Hume Concert Hall at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. October 4th, 2012 marks the centenial of the premiere of Schoenberg’s work. Complete with costumes on a fully staged set honoring the original performance, Nonsemble 6’s production will also feature visual projections by Alex Roten.
Nonsemble 6 is a San Francisco-based sextet comprised of top innovators on the Bay Area music landscape. Over the past three years N6 has performed in numerous Bay Area venues including on the Noe Valley Chamber Music series, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the Switchboard Music Festival, and the California Academy of Sciences (with composer Mason Bates). The Nonsemble features EP Intern Kevin Rogers on violin.
